Asheville Weddings | Julie + Jeremy

One of the very first things Julie said to me was, “Just so you know, I’m a horrible planner. And a wedding will be no different.”

Funny, because I find this Claxton Farm wedding to be the perfect depiction of a formal event with a casual flair. It turned out to be one of my very favorite weddings of 2011.  =)

A few fun facts:

  • Jeremy was smitten by Julie the very first time he saw her. (How lucky are they?!)
  • Julie is a potter and is quite talented and creative.
  • Jeremy used to have dreadlocks!
  • Jeremy’s family is from the North. Julie’s family is from the South. Families have never met… until now.  =)
  • Their friends/wedding guests are crazy, creative, single, and wild.
  • They are both super shy and therefore cut out a lot of the small events within their wedding that involved lots of attention.  =)
  • Though they’re shy, they’re both incredibly photogenic. Check out these beautiful people below!

I cannot say enough good things about the floral work from Jessica at Aria Floral. I’m always excited when I hear my couples have chosen her for their wedding flowers – I love her artistic vision! Oh, and be sure to check out Skate Rink Jukebox, an extremely versatile, energy packed band from Charlotte, NC. Big thanks to my talented photographer friend, Kate Monroe, for helping me with this one. <3

Asheville Farm Wedding | Ronna + Jason

Ronna and Jason. Totally precious.

Much to the surprise of Ronna’s 12 year old self, Ronna and Jason are a military couple. After graduation, Jason felt the calling of his civic duty and decided to join the Navy. And Ronna, already head-over-heels for Jason, was gracious, understanding, and in full support of his decision.

Oh, sweet Ronna. I think her wedding date changed three times only three short months before her wedding.  I remember her saying, “I tend to call myself a chill A-type.  I get my stuff done, but I don’t freak out if it doesn’t go according to plan.” Thank goodness for her go-with-the-flow personality  :)

We met only days before the wedding and immediately hit it off. Mostly, because we all have a similar sense of humor – we’re all upfront and honest and enjoy a little playful banter  ;)

On July 3, 2011 at the beautiful Claxton Farm in Weaverville, NC, Ronna + Jason finally tied the knot!

Fun fact: This gorgeous veil is a family heirloom and was also worn by Ronna’s sister at her wedding this past October  :)

Calling 2013 HS SENIORS! | Asheville Senior Photographer

Seniors, it’s that time of year again…  =)

Graduating in 2013? Want senior pictures that are fun, vibrant, and unique just like you? Better yet, would you like your senior pictures to be done for FREE? For those of you interested, I will be giving out a free senior portrait session along with other awesome incentives to each member of the 2012-2013 Senior Rep Team. One Representative will be chosen from each of the high schools in Buncombe County.

As a member of the Senior Rep Team, your role is vital to the success of this year’s marketing campaign. If chosen you will promote Sarah Rominger Photography to your friends, family, and classmates.

Do you have what it takes to be part of the team? Fill out your application here, the deadline has been extended but all applicants that are chosen need to have their sessions completed by April 30th. The most qualified candidates will be personable, stylish, energetic, hard-working, and LOVE having their photos taken :) Your senior pictures do not have to be the same boring photos that 95% of high school seniors have taken year after year. You are unique – your senior portraits should be, too.

I hope to hear from you soon!

change. and lots of it.

Growing as a business is kind of like growing as a person. When you first start your business, everything is an experiment. In photography world, that means everything from the type of clients you attract and work with to the type of color treatment you use on your photos. It’s usually not until years  later that you truly discover who you are and what your style is.

I am finally at that place.  :)  :)  :)

What you see now is the final outcome of what has been in the making since April 2011. Whew!

My incredibly talented designer, Ryan at Second Street Creative, was so patient with me. I brought a million and one ideas to the table and yet, somehow, he was able to refine and channel my thoughts. And later, bring my ideas to life!

I wanted something romantic and sophisticated, yet fun and light-hearted. Something that reflected who I am as a photographer and just as importantly, who I am as a person. And I think we achieved just that.

Now, WATCH THIS.

(created by the ever-awesome Adam Hobbs)

This video has been in the works for a YEAR. Yes, you read it correctly… a full 365 days. It was worth the wait, though, because it’s everything I wanted in a documentary piece and more. My hope is that you will watch it and have a better understanding of who I am and why I do what I do.

Overall, I am beyond thrilled and feel like everything couldn’t have come together any more perfectly and seamlessly. I hope you all enjoy the new look of Sarah Rominger Photography, please let me know what you think! I’d love to hear some feedback   :)

An enormous ‘thank you’ goes out to everyone who helped me along the way:

Chris Rominger, Rebecca Coombs, Mandii Green, Kate Monroe, Alisha Silver, Josh Gull, Casey & Josh Schneider, Meghan Decker, Tutti Fruitti Frozen Yogurt of Asheville, Mitchell’s Tuxedos.

Biltmore Estate | Marisa + Brandon

These two are so fun, and have so much chemistry! The light was perfect on the day of their engagement session and we happened upon a field of yellow wildflowers – SCORE! I photographed their wedding at the Deerpark at Biltmore several weeks ago and in a few more weeks, I’ll be showing those images, as well  :) So, check back soon!
