Asheville Senior Photographer | Savannah

Savannah and her parents traveled in from Winston-Salem for her session as Savannah had a very specific style she was looking for in her senior photos. She had the perfect outfits picked out for her wide variety of looks and locations: a 1950s inspired teal dress, a flower patterned blue dress, and a pretty coral cardigan paired with nice blue jeans.

Savannah reminds me of a porcelain doll. Clear, perfect, translucent skin; beautiful auburn hair; and full, red lips. Very Snow White-esque.

Here’s the review her sweet father left for me after her session!

“Our daughter recently chose Sarah as her photographer for senior pictures. Initially, we were a bit skeptical only because our daughter chose based on an internet search and online reviews. She is very independent. After reviewing Sarah’s online portfolio, we scheduled a date and were off to Asheville for the photo session. When we got to Asheville, we checked into the motel, freshened up and were off to meet Sarah. I must say, it was so refreshing to meet someone so genuinely kind and who shared our concern to come up with the best pictures possible for our daughter. Sarah chose three excellent locations; near a river bed, in a field of flowers and a very scenic wooded area (with the mountains of Asheville in the background of course). So, while my wife and I relaxed and took in the scenic beauty, Sarah and our daughter went off for the photo shoot and seemed to be old, long lost buddies. I really did not think of it then, but I would imagine getting to know someone is required in order to photograph them well. We had a great weekend in Asheville and our daughter seemed to have a new best friend. To make a long story short, the proof was in the final product. Sarah worked with us almost an entire weekend to finalize our order. We were SO pleased with the photographs and the fact the Sarah captured the essence of our daughter. We will treasure these pictures for years to come. Based on all of this, not to mention Sarah’s sparkling personality and sincere desire to please; We would recommend Sarah for any engagement, large or small. Take it from us, you will be VERY pleased with her amazing results!!!      —The Taylors”

Engagement Photographer Asheville | Erika + Ian

Sometimes, dilapidated buildings and canoes on a lake make for the best mix of engagement photos.  :)

Erika and Ian traveled from Chapel Hill to spend a fun weekend in Asheville and were looking for the perfect mix of natural vs. edgy for their session. When I say ‘dilapidated’, I mean, a part of the building was quite literally in the midst of being torn down during the time we were there, and it was completely gone by the following week. Thankful for clients who go with the flow of things and trust my vision and also know that I’ll keep them safe.

The remainder of the session took place in and around beautiful Lake Julian!

Grove Park Inn Wedding | Jenna + John

grove park wedding photography

Meet Jenna and John – one of my favorite couples of 2012!
They are currently featured in one of my sample wedding albums.

J&J were high school sweethearts – they started dating the night of their senior prom.  :)  Jenna is an A-type, go getter kind of girl and was given four months to plan her heavily detailed wedding. None of her family and friends were surprised when she had everything finished in three!

The underlying theme throughout their Grove Park Inn wedding was ‘vintage chic garden party’.

And check out their wedding video by the amazingly talented Adam Hobbs, the same videographer who created my documentary video! The voice of the minister (who also happens to be Jenna’s grandfather) is pretty powerful.
